| This I Believe: |
Mother-Father God, by nature, is unlimited love and draws us to let our partial limited love unfold in depth until we reach our full capacity for giving ourselves to God and to the totality of everything we do and are. Too often we fashion God in our image and then wonder why there is no radical world change. God is not in pursuit of privilege and power and prestige but change. That change involves love and God is love.
Each of us is created in the image and likeness of our Mother-Father God. God is all and all are in God whether we are heterosexual, homosexual, transgendered, or bi-sexual. Created in Mother-Father God’s image and likeness, our behaviors are natural extensions of who we are regardless of our sexual feelings. It is only natural for us to have the in-born right to choose and determine what is right for us. We should pursue our spiritual beliefs without interference from any outside agency, government or church group. If we think God excludes anyone, we haven’t gone deep enough to discover who God and Jesus are.
The goal of all religion is the practice of reconciliation among those who often remain at a distance from each other, the disenfranchised, the poor, the lonely, the down trodden. Churches have often been too cautious about it’s calling to justice, especially justice for those who have been excluded from places of privilege. Through the power of non-violent love, pressure will be brought to bear on the systems of the world that are unjust.
How do we do this? We do this by sharing love, which is pure good. The Almighty Goodness has made it abundantly clear what we should do: “Simply do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with our God.”
