Only a handful of states require the minister to provide a Letter of Good Standing in order to register as a wedding officiant in the state. Most states do
not require this. For those few states that do require a letter, the format of the letter is specific to the individual state.
Some of the states which require registration will accept an original copy of your ordination credential certificate for this purpose, which you may order from this site. Email or online printouts may
not be used for purposes of registration.
If a Letter of Good Standing is
required by the state, you may obtain one by contacting church headquarters at 209-527-8111 during business hours. Such letters cannot be provided unless it is required by the state in which you will be officiating marriage. A charge will apply for notarizing the document if required.
